From SW Florida International Airport it is about an hour’s drive from the airport in Fort Myers to Pineland Marina on Pine Island.  You can rent a car or book passage on Pine Island Taxi.   Ferry service runs several times daily from Pineland Marina.  The crossing takes about 30 minutes.

From the South or North of I-75
From I-75 (exit 143)  drive west on Pine Island Rd. (78West). Stay straight through Burnt Store Rd. then through Matlacha to a 4 way stop,  then take a right on Stringfellow Rd. (Route767) in Pine Island Center. Three miles down, take a left on Pineland Road. This turns into Waterfront Drive and after the Tarpon Lodge you will see Pineland Marina on the left.

Island Girl operates a daily ferry service from Pineland Marina to Barnacles’ Island Resort Dock.

Private Water Taxi
Captains (please call (239) 472-1200 for Captain on Duty) will take you whenever and wherever you’d like to go: dinner on Cabbage Key, shopping in Boca Grande, sightseeing around the islands or over to the mainland at Pine Island to catch a plane.

North Captiva has a private airstrip only permitted to members of the Salty Approach LLC.  Renting or purchasing a home with a Salty Approach membership provides landing access.

In summertime, although humid, you will enjoy lovely Gulf breezes and incredibly warm soothing ocean temperatures. Swimming is fantastic and the manatees are in residence! The evenings cool off nicely after a late afternoon thunder shower.
